Crowe Shield
The school has been running a very successful in house school hurling competition for over thirty years now.
We remember the legendary Tom Crowe RIP, who was part of the Clare Team who were Hurling League Champions in 1977.
We are eternally grateful to the Crowe family for donating this shield in his honour.
This allows so many young players an opportunity to enjoy the game of hurling played with friends and neighbours.
This competition is hard won. Different heroic feats are still spoken about.
It is played off over two days in late June and all children in fourth, fifth and sixth class play, regardless of their hurling ability.
Some of our sixth class pupils are captains of the teams and all the school community gather together to enjoy the finals.
After many years, many well known camógie and hurling stars recall their excitement when playing in this competition during their formative years in the school.
